Mrs. DeMar is thrilled to be the principal of Annunciation BVM Catholic School. Mrs. DeMar is married to Brian DeMar and they have two sons Tom (Mia) and Ryan (Michelle). They are thrilled to have three grandchildren Jack and Ali who belong to Tom and Mia, and Griffin who belongs to Ryan and  Michelle. They come from a very close family who spend lots of time together cooking out and enjoying one another’s company! She brings many years of teaching  and principal experience to this environment and she looks forward to working closely with the students, staff, and families off Annunciation. She has a deep respect for the history here and the many generations of families who are the heart of the parish and school.

Mrs. DeMar is a veteran educator who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from North Central College in Naperville. She also holds a Master’s  in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University. In addition,  Mrs. DeMar has had her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Aurora University for 19 years. Mrs. DeMar has been a national presenter on “Bridging the Gap with High Needs Students!” and “How to Create a Turn  around School!”

Mrs. DeMar taught every grade level from Pre-School to sixth grade before becoming an Assistant Principal. After two years as an Asst. Principal she  became a principal at Hermes Elementary School in Aurora. She was dedicated to serving in the Aurora area and after seven years as principal was asked to be part of a 5-million-dollar grant called the IL PART Grant to develop principals in high needs areas. She loved this position out of North Central College, as  bringing more teachers into leadership positions has been a passion for her  throughout her career. From East Aurora she joyfully served at St. Raphael Catholic School in Naperville, which was a Pre-K through 8 th grade  position. She loved the students, teachers, and staff in this environment and  found her niche’ in Catholic Education. 

Mrs. DeMar is excited to join the Annunciation BVM Catholic School and hopes to lead the school with great joy, faithfulness, and positivity. She wants  to meet all of her families and awaits opening day with great anticipation! She invites all prospective parents in for a tour and to sit down and discuss the fine Catholic education available at Annunciation BVM! She believes that if  you want to change the life of a child forever…give them a Catholic education!
