Father Patrick Gillmeyer, OSB, is originally from Allentown, Pennsylvania. He is currently pastor of Annunciation BVM Parish in Aurora, IL.
He is also a Benedictine monk at Marmion Abbey, having joined the monastic community there in 1998. He professed temporary vows in 1999 and, in 2002, he made he professed his permanent vows.
Father Patrick did undergraduate studies in Spanish and Philosophy at St. Meinrad College, in St. Meinrad, Indiana. He graduated from St. Meinrad College in 1998, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy. He did his theological studies for the priesthood at Mundelein Seminary, graduating in 2003. He was ordained to the priesthood in May of 2003.
Before becoming pastor of Annunciation Parish, Father Patrick taught Mathematics and Spanish at Marmion Academy.
Fr. Patrick enjoys being the pastor at Annunciation Church very much, and he especially loves celebrating Mass throughout the week, hearing confessions, and telling hilarious jokes to the students when he visits the classrooms. He also enjoys music very much, and has enjoyed it most of his life. He has been playing the bass guitar since he was 16 years of age. He also enjoys crossword puzzles, languages, reading, and his two cats: Gloria and Lucy.
